Most of us are in a belief that if you want to stay fit, you got to exercise! Well even I believed the same till some few years back until I planned to hit the gym. It was then that I actually realized not the physical movement but your diet plays a very important role in order to stay fit!
The work out plays almost 30% role while the diet plays the major role contributing to 70% for fitness.
Anyways, so here is the list of the possible things that you might hear from many people, to who you have to turn a deaf ear to!!
- “IF YOU WANT TO LOOSE WEIGHT, YOU GOT TO EXERCISE”
TRUTH: Absolutely not!! The truth is your fitness is controlled by your sheer diet. By eating healthy i.e. cutting out essential calories and in taking of proper nutrients into the body is the only key to fitness. Apart from this, a study published in Journal Obesity revealed that people who head to slim down together see a better result as they can be each other’s motivation. The experiments have proved it to be true too.
- “YOU CAN BUILD LONG LEAN MUSCLES”
TRUTH: Well, the truth to this shallow statement is building of a muscular body cannot just happen with those light swaying movements of your body. It requires rigorous work out along with the intake of proper supplements which triggers the proper muscle growth. It is also learnt that for those beautiful muscles you ought to work out at an above average speed with more than average reps. I don’t say it’s impossible but it’s not as simple too!
- “NO PAIN, NO GAIN”
TRUTH: “Come on man! Just two more”, is all you have heard since childhood, but sadly the truth is, unless you are into those sports driven activities, which requires long hours of work out because of their need, you on the other hand needn’t undergo through so much of pain. Rather just concentrate on the healthy heart related, mood stabilizing, weight reducing, increasing energy. “No pain, no gain is a bad strategy for lifelong exercise,” says Dr. Michael Otto, author of Exercise for Mood and Anxiety: Proven Strategies for Overcoming Depression and Enhancing Well-Being. Just a 40 minutes workout is sufficient to suffice your demands taking your body!
- “THE BEST TIME TO WORKOUT IS MORNING/NIGHT”
TRUTH: The truth here is you should workout whenever you feel like it at anytime of the day irrespective of the time as the body only demands the movements not the time of them!! Lol!
You can work out, during the mini breaks while you are studying, while you are unable to sleep etc. Dr.Otto also shared that there are many research suggesting to workout at a particular time of the day, but their effects are very subtle. So, move that booty, when you to!
- “YOU GOT TO CARBO-LOAD”
TRUTH: NO NO NO! Unless you are going to strain yourself for more than 90 minutes, you must not involve yourself into carbo-loading as this will not improve but degrade your fitness. Many athletes and players gorge onto large calorie food which is also rich in protein so as to instill the energy they require for their game, the next day! The best strategy is to eat normal healthy diet i.e. a plate filled with two-thirds grain, starches, veggies, and fruits, and one-third protein, while cutting down on the training.
