This year India is going to celebrate 71st Republic Day and its preparation has begun from 7th January 2020 itself. The chief guest for Republic Day celebrations is Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited Bolsonaro on the sidelines of the 11th BRICS Summit held in Brasilia to be the chief guest at the Republic Day in 2020. Bolsonaro accepted the invitation with pleasure.
For its preparation, the Ministry of Defence has selected 22 tableaus out of 56 proposals for the Republic Day parade. This year during the republic day celebration in Delhi for the first time in Parade, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will display its tableau, representing its humanitarian efforts during a disaster such as cyclones and floods, moving on the Rajpath for the first time. This force came into existence in 2006 for specific tasks of relief and rescue during natural and man-made disasters or similar life-threatening situations.

Every year between 7 January and 25 January at the assigned Government Sales Counter, the tickets are sold for India’s Republic Day parade.

For Republic Day Tickets, there is currently no option for buying it online. We have to physically go to the sales counter and tickets are issued after verifying ID proofs. Also Note, Reserved seats are located closer to the main stage of the event, whereas unreserved seats are given on a First come basis. Make sure that one reaches the venue early to get the best seat if you have unreserved tickets.

Chief Guest in Republic Day 2020 is Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. He will also accompany a large business delegation to India on this occasion.
❍ Beating Retreat Ceremony Tickets
It is held every year on 29th January; the ceremony marks the end of Vijay Chowk’s four-day festivities. The Chief Guest of the Office is India’s President, which is accompanied by the’ President bodyguards’ in the cavalry unit. The commander of the President bodyguards demands that, when the president arrives, the unit gives the national salute, accompanied by the mass band performing the Indian anthem as well as the flagship.
“Beat Retreat” reflects an ancient military tradition, when the soldiers stopped fighting, shackled their weapons, retired and returned at sunset to the camps when the retreat began.
For beating retreat ceremony tickets are priced at 50 rupees and 20 rupees (full dress rehearsal on the 28th January). Also, be noted that every seat in the Beating Retreat Ceremony is unreserved.
