Happy Teachers Day 2019: Dr Sarvepalli Radha krishnan’s birth anniversary is celebrated as the teacher’s day in India to celebrate his respect and acknowledgement for the responsibility of teachers. He believed that (Teachers Day 2019) “teachers should be the best minds in the country.”

Bollywood, which is one of the most influential industries of India, is not lagging when it comes to celebrating the teacher-student relationship and has given some of the iconic films. On Teacher Day 2019, we have compiled a list of famous Bollywood movies that celebrate the Teacher-student connection, which is the purest kind of relationship.

TAARE ZAMEEN PAR

1. TAARE ZAMEEN PAR

When it comes to celebrating the connection between a mentor and student, the first film that comes into my mind is Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par. (Teachers Day 2019) The film tells how efficient teachers work like a goldsmith who finds the hidden talents of their students. The character of Ishan, played by Darsheel Safary, was a primary school student with dyslexia, and how the pressure of excelling in studies takes him to the boarding school. It is only his art teacher RamashankarNikumbh (Aamir Khan), who understood his depression and helped him discover his artistic talents.

CHAK DE! INDIA

2. CHAK DE! INDIA

There are two films where Shah Rukh Khan has played the role of Teacher. His first film where he played a teacher was Mohabbatein, but we will discuss it later. The film which celebrates him as an influential mentor figure is Chak De! India. (Teachers Day 2019) He played the coach of the women’s hockey team and made the unorganized girls win the Hockey World Cup. It was his dialogues that united the girls. Kabir Khan, played by Shah Rukh Khan was a former caption of the national hockey team becomes the coach, and mentor the quarrelsome girls to recover from the racial, religious, ethnic and regional prejudices and work as a team.

MOHABBATEIN

3. MOHABBATEIN

Let us now talk about Shah Rukh’s iconic role, where he played a cool music teacher Raj Aaryan. Usually, teachers are seen lecturing their students about the rules and regulations, but Shah Rukh became everyone’s favourite when he instructed his students to break the rules introduced by Amitabh Bachchan, the principal.

SUR

4. SUR

The teacher-student chemistry between Lucky Ali and Gauri Karnik in the Movie Sur also earned everyone’s attention in 2002. The film was based on the idea of Plagiarism, and Lucky Ali who played the Music teacher Vikrama ditya stole his student Tina Marie’s song when he was jealous of her success. The film very well expresses the blind faith students have on their teachers, and how severely, deceit from the teachers’ side can impact their lives.

BLACK

5. BLACK

Bollywood’s great actor Amitabh Bachchan is also in the list of super gurus with his movie Black where he played the teacher of deaf-blind Rani Mukherjee.(Teachers Day 2019) The teacher later develops a disease called Alzheimer’s, and it is only his student, who at the climax, turns the mentor. Sanjay LeelaBhansali had created a stir in 2005 with the film Black which became the highest-grossing Indian movie in overseas, and the second-highest-grossing Indian film on the global level.

SUPER 30

6. SUPER 30

VikasBahl’s Super 30 is the super hit film of 2019, where Hrithik Roshan is seen playing the character of the mathematician teacher. It is a biography of Anand Kumar, who is highly esteemed because of his educational program named Super 30, where he teaches 30 lower-class students, who all successfully clear the IIT Entrance Exam. The film very well portrays the hard work and efforts a teacher has to make to help his students reach on the top of the world.

3 IDIOTS

7. 3 IDIOTS

3 Idiots again mark Aamir khan as the mentor figure. Though the teacher in the movie was VIRUS, Aamir Khan was the one who taught life lessons to his friends at the start. Later on, however, he turned a teacher and opened a school for underprivileged students. It is the story of engineering students who are struggling under the pressure of the Indian Education System. (Teachers Day 2019) The teacher student relation in visible in Rancho and Virus, and also in Rancho and Millimeter who used to work as a peon in their college.
