The third match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka on Saturday, 1 June.

New Zealand or Kiwis as they are popularly known, has risen as high as second in the world rankings but has also been beaten at home by South Africa, England, and India. James Franklin, former Kiwi paceman is confident Williamson’s side can claim their first World Cup trophy.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had previously suffered eight defeats to New Zealand and South Africa. But Sri Lanka has an impressive ICC Cricket World Cup record, with one semi-final appearance, one title, and two runners-up finishes.

The third match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will begin at 03:00 pm IST at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Saturday.

Key Players of the match

New Zealand: Tim Southee, the right-arm pacer, is the third most wicket-taker as a New Zealand bowler. He has picked up 33 wickets in ICC Cricket World Cup. The other two New Zealand joint leading wicket-takers in ICC Cricket World Cup tournament history are Daniel Vettori and Jacob Oram with 36 wickets.

Sri Lanka: Lahiru Thirimanne the left-handed batsman, who has scored 2,990 runs in One Day International, will soon become the 16th Sri Lankan batsman to score 3,000 runs in ODI.
