Earlier, England had won the toss and put the greens in to bat. Starting on the pace of fast bowler Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes for early wickets and with no doubt hoping to recreate the way the Windies skittled Pakistan out for 105. Pakistan scored 349 for 8 in their 50 over match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, all credits to Mohammad Hafeez who scored 84 and Babar Azam’s 63. Pakistan held England charge with a late flurry of wickets to leave them at 334-9.

Eoin Morgan, England skipper couldn’t stand long and was bowled out by Hafeez who made 84 during Pakistan innings. In the 22nd over, England faced the 4th jolt when the all-rounder Ben Stokes edged Shoaib Malik and the ball went straight to wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahamed.
After making a 2nd lowest total of 105 in a shambolic opening of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, defeat against West Indies, Pakistan has made its 2nd highest score in tournament history of 348 for 8 against England.
On the other hand, the host and favourite team England have beaten South Africa on the 1st day of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and the team also has one defeat.
