Bollywood celebrity Kareena Kapoor is back with her second season celebrity chat show “What Women Want” and the first guest on her show was her mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore. This show is a radio show.
During the episode, Kareena had asked Sharmila to tell the difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law.
She replied, a daughter is the one to whom one grows up self and so, is aware of her temperament; one knows what makes her angry and how one has to deal with it. On the contrary, the daughter-in-law is the one whom one meets the already grown-up individual and not aware of many of her hidden potentials, one doesn’t know about her temperament, likes, dislikes, behavior, nature, etc. for this it takes time to fall things into place. The new girl, in the form of daughter-in-law, when comes to the house, needs to be welcomed and also make her more comfortable.
She also gave her example when she got married to Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She said she was brought up in a Bengali family and was fond of eating rice. And they all were fond of eating roti-phulka. I loved eating fish and Mansoor hated fish. So, one has to make this kind of adjustment too. They seem to be minor but in the long run, it matters a lot.
Recently Sharmila Tagore has celebrated her 75th birthday with her children Soha Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu along with their grandchildren Inaaya and Taimur Ali Khan.
