Yesterday (13.12.2019) Moushumi Chatterjee’s daughter, Payal passed away after a prolonged illness, reported by Bollywood Hungama.

Payal, in 2017 was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at a very young age, was in continuous touch with the hospital since 2017 and even got exhausted for some time last year in 2018.

India Today revealed that Moushumi and her husband Jayanta Mukherjee had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court in November 2018, with a plea to be appointed as Payal’s guardians to take care of her and for proper medical attention which she required badly.

The actor had suspected in her petition that Payal’s husband Dicky Sinha was neglecting her medical needs. He supposedly stopped her physiotherapy treatment and did not clear the dues of the staff assigned with the responsibility of attending Payal. The petition also claimed that he did not make changes in her diet that were suggested by her doctor.

Moushumi and Jayanta also revealed that Dicky denied giving them access to Payal’s medical papers. They also alleged that even her son was not allowed to meet her. Dicky said since he is her husband so has got hold of a greater right to care for her than the parents.

Moushumi was a renowned actress of the seventies, made her big-screen debut with the Bengali film Balika Badhu at that time she was only 15 years old. She entered into Bollywood with Shakti Samanta’s Anuraag in 1972 and has worked with top stars of the time, including Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, Dharmendra, Jeetendra, and Sanjeev Kumar.
