The first looks from Shershaah- a Kargil war drama- have been revealed on the occasion of Siddharth Malhotra’s 35th birthday. Sharing the three posters from his upcoming film, Siddharth wrote: “An absolute honor to be able to paint the big screen with the shades of bravery and sacrifice.”
Narrating the story of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra, Siddharth added: “Paying an ode to the journey of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) and bringing the untold true story with Shershaah”. Looks like Siddharth is very inspired by the courage of the Indian army. This might be due to the injury Siddharth suffered while shooting for the film when his bike skid on Kargil road. Talking about the challenges faced while shooting the film, Siddharth told earlier “We have shot in mountains similar to the ones where the battles were fought. The rocks were extremely sharp, and they can’t be controlled. So there were ample challenges that came in for safety while doing the action and the team did everything to ensure that we are safe.” Therefore, as a tribute to all those soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Kargil war, on the army day Siddharth tweeted “A big salute to all our soldiers for their courage, valor and boundless determination! After interacting with them closely last year I’ve realized that it’s truly the most selfless profession. We can’t thank them enough for everything they do for our country. Jai Hind!”
His co-star Kiara Advani also expressed her excitement after the revelation of first looks from Shershaah saying: “Thrilled to be a part of an ode to the Kargil War hero and his brave journey. Presenting the untold true story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) – Shershaah. Aurjanamdinmubarak, Sidharth Malhotra.”
Apart from the first looks from Shershaah, Actor Siddharth Malhotra talked about his personal attraction towards the role he is offered in the film. He said “Everyone knows about his heroic stories from newspapers and articles. When you meet people who have lived with him, his family or have known him personally, you feel an immense kind of pressure. First, you hope to do justice to his personal life and family”.
