Indian batsman Rohit Sharma thinks that Yuvraj Singh deserved a more robust send off for his amazing 17-year long international career. Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement at a press conference in Mumbai, 10th June. A lot of former and current cricketers paid their tributes to Yuvi, who was instrumental in India’s victory at the 2007 T20 world cup as well as the 2011 world cup. Following the retirement, Rohit posted a special message on Twitter - [embed][/embed] Yuvraj Singh, who started his international cricket career in a match against Kenya in 2000, played more than 300 ODIs, 40 test matches and 58 T20is. He scored 11,778 runs with 71 fifties and 17 hundred. His fellow Sehwag raised the concern about the pain of not receiving a farewell match however Yuvraj Singh aforesaid he didn't want one. Even legends like VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid didn't get the farewell games they deserved. “I did not tell anyone in BCCI that I have to play the last match. Agar main accha tha, potential tha toh main ground pe se chale jaata. (If I was good enough, I would have retired from the ground). Aur mujhe is tarha ki cricket khelna pasand nahi hai, ki mujhe ek match chahiye (I don’t like to ask for a game, I have never played the game with that mindset),” Yuvraj Singh said.
