Mahendra Singh Dhoni belongs to a small town in Ranchi. His beginning was pretty humble and after so many difficulties, he finally got a chance to play for the Indian Cricket Team. He was a bit unfortunate in the initial matches but finally made his mark with the bat and behind the wickets. He captained the Indian Cricket Team in the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup. A young Indian team under the leadership of MS Dhoni became the first ICC T20 World Cup champion.
Soon, MS Dhoni took India to victory in the ICC Champions Trophy Tournament and finally in 2011, MS Dhoni delivered when the team needed him the most. He scored the final runs and India lifted the World Cup after a hiatus of 28 years. MS Dhoni is the only Indian captain to win all the ICC tournaments; World Cup, Champions Trophy, and T20 World Cup.
His contribution to Indian cricket is unparalleled, his cricket IQ is supreme, and his wicket-keeping skills are the best in business. There are avid Dhoni fans in India and then there are people who criticize Dhoni every time Indian Team underperforms.
Yuvraj Singh is one of the most decorated Indian athletes. He played a major role in India’s world cup triumph in 2011. His father, Yograj Singh has been in news for criticizing MS Dhoni for India’s loss in the previous 2 editions of the world cup. He blamed Dhoni for dropping players like Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, and Virender Sehwag. Recently, Yograj Singh made a complete u-turn from his words against Dhoni. He stated that he respects Dhoni and what he has done for the nation.
Yograj Singh posted some videos of him taking a dig at Dhoni. He blamed Dhoni for not picking his son Yuvraj Singh in the playing 11 despite him being fit. In a recent interview with News 24 Sports, Yograj Singh praised MS Dhoni for his service to the nation. He also went on to say that he never blamed Dhoni for India’s loss.
Dhoni is not a part of the Indian Squad for the West Indies tour. Either Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik will assume wicket-keeper’s role in Dhoni’s absence. Dhoni decided to serve army regiment for two months which is why he is unavailable for the West Indies tour. When the reporter asked Yograj Singh about his views on Dhoni’s decision, he said that everyone must serve their nation just like Dhoni. Yograj added that Dhoni’s decisions have made Indian Cricket Team the number 1 one-day side of the game.
