Bangladesh beat South Africa by 21 runs in the 5th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Oval, London on Sunday.
After plenty of one-sided affairs in this ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, finally, we witnessed an equal fight from two teams, Bangladesh and South Africa.
Bangladesh managed to outplay South Africa in the end mainly due to their power-hitting at the death.
Bangladesh notched their highest-ever ODI score of 6-330, to add another World Cup scalp of South Africa to their famous win of 2007.
Mushfiqur Rahim fired 78 to share a 142-run 3rd wicket stand with Shakib, who leaked just 2 fours in his 10 over’s with the ball. However, Mustafizur Rahman plundered 3-67, with Md. Saifuddin taking 2-57 in a victory to expose serious shortcomings in the Proteas’ ranks.
Man of the Match
Shakib Al Hasan, the man of the match, took Bangladesh to 330 for 6 against South Africa in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match. Shakib’s 75 came from 84 balls as the pair combined in a 142 run partnership. He also picked up a wicket of Aiden Markram 45.
