With the French Open 2017 continuing through, its match Day – 7 and we are getting through the Round 3 of the ongoing fierce event. Today’s match highlight will be the battle between the huge Argentine, Del Potro and the world number 1 UK champion Andy Murray. Juan Potro is always underestimated during such big matches; it could halfway change things since he has great potential of posing threat for the World Number 1 Andy Murray. The Argentine has got powerful ground strokes and its something like his performance gets doubled while playing big matches. It is a known threat for Murray and he needs to pitch in his best strokes if he wants to progress ahead in the Roland Garros. Thus Juan Del Potro is a player to look for in the form he is in and the match would be a tough one considering it been played against the World’s number 1 player.

Although coach Patrick Mouratoglou has been assessing what positions Andy Murray would adapt and tactics he would apply to secure his win against the Argentine. When asked to Andy Murray about facing the former US Open champion his words were, “It’s a tough match. In my opinion he’s one of the best players in the world.” Andy Murray was into the third round after beating the unseeded Slovakian player Martin Klizan in the Round 2 of Roland Garros.

Men’s singles – round 3

Match Court Time Round
Stan Wawrinka(3) v/s Fabio Fognini(28) Suzanne – Lenglen court 11:00 A.M.      3

French Open 2017,  Day 7 is the day where we will be vigilant enough to notice another match that is going to take place between Stan Wawrinka who came through after a strenuous match defeating Ukraine’s Alexandr Dolgopolov with 6-4 7-6(5) 7-5 progressing into the third round against the Italian Fabio Fognini. Wawrinka is well known for his slow starts in matches the bursting past the opponent in the proceeding sets.

Although Stan Wawrinka has been using his pace better than ever before. If he wins the 3rd round of the French Open 2017 will becounted as his 11th entry in 12 tries he has made until now. On the other hand, the Italian Fabio Fognini gained clear win over Andreas Seppi in the Round 2 of the French Open.

His caliber to maintain his comeback has been undoubtedly well. This puts Stan in a situation where he will have to outperform Fabio to gain access to the 4th round. And it will be the second time when Fabio enters the fourth round after last entering in 2015. Although previous history of matches between the two show that Wawrinka has clear advantage with winning 5 of the 6 matches played between them with only 1 in the hands of the Italian that came during the play in Mexican Open, 2013. Hence Fabio Fognini will have to give his best to secure a win over the big shot.

Today’s matches will be interesting to see and with results it will be known whether it is the talent or experience that wins. Stay tuned to find more of the action!
