Re-Release Of Uri

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, 2019 hit URI: The Surgical Strike will be occupying the theatres again. The film was earlier released on 26th January 2019. The theatres were overfilled and the entire credit of the publicity of the film goes to the liberals who, by using statements like “nationalism on sale”, “toxic hyper-nationalism”, etc. promoted the film for free. They challenged the Indian population and people retorted it accordingly.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Rana, and Kirti Kulhari. Paresh Rawal plays the character of Ajay Doval, National Security Advisor, whereas Yogesh Soman plays Manohar Parrikar and both the artists merge so well in their roles that it becomes difficult to differentiate between the actors and real political figures. Be it his heavy voice or his glorious complexion, the role of Rajit Kapur as Narendra Modi was not much liked by the audience as some of his features were missing in the cast. The film does not use the real names of the characters. But what brought the film to life was the brave army officer played by Vickey Kaushal. Apart from him, there are strong female characters played by Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari. The most interesting fact is that the female characters are not merely used for glamour in the movie.

The film focuses on the heartbreaking incident of URI base camp where brave Indian soldiers were attacked by Pakistani terrorists in their sleep. It is a story of revenge portraying the most important and very first operation: Surgical Strike, of Indian Army. It forms a base to describe the reason behind surgical strike by narrating the terrorist activities going in the country chronologically beginning with 4th June 2015 when the National Socialist Council of Nagaland attacks an Indian army truck in which India lost it’s 18 soldiers followed by Pathankot attacks which killed 4 civilians. The entire operation is led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. The film needs no exaggeration to declare it the best war film till the date.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala said that the idea he had in mind for making the film was the sense of pride that every Indian had in his heart. The movie will hit 500 theatres across Maharashtra on 26th June. Its protagonist Major Vihaan Singh (Vickey Kaushal ) is currently working on Udham Singh Biopic.
