Ghost Stories Netflix: Actor Vijay Verma will be seen sharing the screen with JanhviKapoor for the first time in the upcoming Netflix anthology ‘Ghost Stories’. Zoya Akhtar herself took the responsibility of revealing the names via social media. She wrote “Rolling and Rocking ‘Ghost Stories’. My seventh film. I love short films. Janhvi…Vijay”

The post attracted love from many Bollywood celebrities who took the same medium to congratulate Verma and Akhtar for Ghost Stories. Katrina Kaif wrote “All the best zo”, whereas Akhtar’sformer film’s star ‘Gully Boy’ aka Ranveer Singh captioned “You are THE MAKER.”

Vijay Verma played the role of Ranveer Singh’s best friend in Gully Boy while it will be Jahnvi’s first project with Akhtar.

Being the third collaboration between Netflix and RSVP  in association with AshiDua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment, Ghost Stories will feature four interconnected stories. The shooting has already commenced and the film is co-directed by the directorial quartet of Lust Stories (2018) i.e., Zoya, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar. Also, the directors coordinated for Bombay Talkies (2013)- a miscellany film produced to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema. The film was screened at the Cannes Film festival in the same year.

Talking about Ghost Stories, Karan Johar finds it exciting to direct a horror film. Ha says “I have always been mortified to watch the horror genre and have always stayed very far away from any ghost story! So to direct one is not only hugely challenging but also exceptionally exciting,”. He further added “Personally it’s uncharted terrain and I couldn’t have chosen a better platform and a more eclectic collective to exhibit my fear of ghosts and ghost stories! This one’s going to be a nightmare for this dream team”

ZoyaAkhtar: “As a writer/director, I thrive on bending genres and inverting tropes and I am so looking forward to attempting that with a ghost story,”

Dibakar Banerjee: “Ghost Stories is my attempt to do that, and it’s great to have a partner in Netflix with whom I have the freedom to tell the story as envisioned. Ultimately we are entertainers, and there’s nothing like a spine-chilling story, scaring the devil out of us while we’re safely tucked in our sofa munching fries”

AnuragKashyap: “I am really looking forward to challenging myself to make something that I have never attempted before. Also I have never prepared so much for anything before.”

Lets wait for another hit by the quartet.
