Ahead of oath ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajghat and the National War Memorial on Thursday.

Narendra Modi visited Rajghat to pay his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi ahead of taking oath as PM of India. He also went to Sadaiv Atal, the memorial of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, where he paid tribute to the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji.

Modi tweeted about paying the tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee and wrote, “We remember beloved Atal Ji every single moment. He would have been very happy to see BJP get such a great opportunity to serve people. Motivated by Atal Ji’s life and work, we will strive to enhance good governance and transform lives.”

Later, Modi also visited the National War Memorial to pay his tribute to Jawans.

Tweeting about paying respect to the Jawans, Modi declared, “India is proud of all those brave men and women martyred in the line of duty. Paid tributes to our brave soldiers at the Rashtriya Samar Smarak. Our government will leave no stone unturned to safeguard India’s unity and integrity. National security is our priority.”

Today, Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the second consecutive time. A dazzling ceremony will take place at 7 pm today at Rashtrapati Bhawan, where the Prime Minister and his council of ministers will take an oath. The ceremony will be attended by politicians, world leaders, and celebrities.

Around 8,000 guests are expected to be part of the ceremony. Earlier, in 2014, approximately 5,000 people attended the ceremony.

The list also includes guest from several neighbouring countries, chief ministers from most of the states and a few famous personalities of the world.

The families of Bhartiya Janta Party workers who lost their lives in political violence in West Bengal have also been invited. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and are among other attendees.
