We are already aware that in every Independence Day we get the opportunity to watch tableau of different states well decorated according to the popularity of that particular state. But the proposal of West Bengal’s tableau for the upcoming Republic Day Parade 2020 has been rejected by the centre. No doubt this decision could strain ties between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the central government even further but the decision of the selection committee has to adhere.

The Ministry of Defence didn’t open the specific reason for the rejection in its statement which was declared on Wednesday (01.01.2020).

It was revealed on Wednesday that Bengal’s proposal was examined by an expert committee at two meetings and “not taken forward for further consideration” for 26th January 2020 Parade.

The Defence Ministry also pointed out that due to the same reasons West Bengal’s 2019 proposal had been shortlisted earlier also for its non-execution.

In total there were 56 proposals out of which 22 Republic Day tableau proposals have been shortlisted.

Banerjee has been one of the BJP’s violent opponents; she has described its rule as a “draconian state government”. She has been very violent attacker on all the rules and responsibilities and devaluated centre for all the bills passed in the parliament and had been motivating the masses for all kinds of violence. She has also refused to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act or the National Register of Citizens in West Bengal, though it is good for the people and recently dared the Centre to go for an UN-monitored referendum on both the two policies; this was the extremely indecent approach and an “insult to the Indian Parliament”.

Besides, all these Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool government has been always in controversies with Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on varying issues right from seating at a Durga Puja event to his unscheduled visit to Singur, she is a brutal leader and had snatched the peace of West Bengal for self-interest and above it, whatever centre says she is in continuous practice of violating it. Out of Twenty-two Republic Day tableau proposals selected for Republic Day Parade 2020, 16 are from states and Union Territories, and 6 from central ministries. These had been shortlisted out of a total of 56 proposals.
