The woman had registered the complaint, Tripathi’s nephew, Sandeep Tiwari, curbed her in a hotel room in Bhadohi for a month during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, where she was over and over again raped by the MLA and his family members. The case has been transferred to the Additional Superintendent of Police of Bhadohi district on which further investigation is underway.

Bhadohi Superintendent of Police Ram Badan Singh while Speaking to reporters said the woman did not lodge a complaint in 2017 as Tiwari had promised to marry her.

The officer said, the woman suspected that during the 2017 polls, Tiwari kept her in a hotel room for a month. He and the 6 accused would visit and repeatedly rape her. She had also claimed that she got pregnant and was forced to undergo an abortion.

The woman also alleged being raped by his few family members. She had given a written complaint in this regard a few days back and on Wednesday (19.02.2020) an FIR was registered in this case. In this regard a team has been set up to investigate the allegations. All the accused have been registered who were named in the complaint. Singh in continuation said that the woman’s statement will be recorded before a magistrate and thereafter further action will be taken in the matter as per law.

However, Tripathi, dismissed the rape allegations, saying he had no information in this regard and if someone has submitted an application, it is a matter of investigation. The SP and the Bhadohi District Magistrate have taken all the things into consideration and an investigation is underway. Tripathi further said that if on the first appearance allegations are proved correct, then he and his family members are ready to be hanged.

The law maker Tripathi claimed that he has been fighting against the land mafia and criminals of the region, against Gyanpur lawmaker Vijay Mishra, who has 78 criminal cases registered against him, could be he is behind the allegations which are enforced on him.

Finally Tripathi said the allegations against him are totally baseless and false; he had further asked, if any such act was done during the elections, why it wasn’t raised at that time?

However the case is under investigation and truth is always victorious.
