Four of a family dead after the fire broke out in a 4-storey building in Delhi

The wee hours of the Friday was not a pleasant one as an extensive fire broke out in Delhi’s Kohat’s enclave, killing four of a family, which includes two children, one 3-year-old and the other 7-year-old, along with the two adults. The sources in the fire department claimed that the reason for the fire was the short circuit.

The five vehicles, which were parked in the basement were also devastated in the process. The neighbours affirmed that the fire was initiated in the pump room of the building, which upon being witnessed, the fire department was immediately called!

The police officials have hence, begun their investigation into the actual source leading to such an agonising fire. the police officials are into the matter of checking whether the building had the right fire exit!

“The call about the fire in the fourth floor of a building in Lajpat Nagar-ii’s central market area was received at 8:55 am on Wednesday, and 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” said an officer of the Delhi fire service. a firefighter was injured after a cylinder exploded while he was overseeing the operations. “he suffered burn injuries on his face and hands,” the official said.

Following the various past fire accidents, the Delhi development authority (DDA) has now planned for a special task force, along with the municipal corporations, police and fire department to look into the illegal constructions, infringements and susceptible to the fire-related accidents.
