The increasing heat of war with Pakistan gives rise to a new controversy every day. If not within India then outside, Pakistan spares no great Indian icon. Recently, the Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra was made the target of Pakistan’s crave for enmity.

Taking into consideration the Los Angeles event where a Pakistani woman accused Priyanka Chopra of
“encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan” and showing her support to the revenge action taken by the Indian Air Forces in respect to the Pulwama attack, the human rights ministry of Pakistan wrote to UNICEF in order to remove Priyanka Chopra from her position as  UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace.

Why will an Indian not stand against Pakistan after such a bizarre? Be it an employee of united nations or marrying an American, PeeCee is an Indian by heart and there is hardly any Indian who did not shed tears on the loss of their soldiers.

So why is she being targeted?

The Indian actors raised their voice in Priyanka’s support. Here is what Bollywood has to say for Pakistan’s lame moves:

Javed Akhtar said in an interview with PTI, “If her comments have upset the Pakistani establishment, they can do whatever they wish.” He further said, “I know Priyanka Chopra personally. She is a cultured, decent and educated person and the fact remains she is an Indian. If there is some kind of controversy and difference in point of view between an average Indian citizen (like Priyanka Chopra) and the Pakistani establishment, obviously her point of view will be an Indian point of view.”

Ayushmann Khurrana told ANI, “I guess Priyanka Chopra represents our country really well and she is not just an Indian icon she is a global icon. Being a daughter of an army officer, I believe she is truly a very good representative of India.”

Divya Dutta said, “I will stand up with Priyanka for whatever she does and I think she has done a very good job.”

Sacred Games 2 actor Anupria Goenka said “Priyanka is someone I really respect; she has put us on the global chart. I think that she deserves to be where she is today. And I believe if she has been chosen to be ambassador then there is a reason for it, that she signifies something. There are a lot of people, who look up to her, women and men alike in India. So, I think she is the best idol to have that way. Somebody who people look up to, therefore kudos for where she is today.”

To all this turmoil, Priyanka Chopra calmed her composure and simply replied  “I have many, many friends from Pakistan and I am from India. War is not something I’m really fond of but I am patriotic, so I’m sorry if I hurt sentiments of people who do love me and have loved me. But I think that all of us have a, sort of, middle ground that we all have to walk. Just like you probably do as well. The way that you came at me right now… girl, don’t yell. We’re all here for love.”

Priyanka has the complete support of every Indian and the management is also expected to consider the matter on a justifiable note.
