UberEATS launched in India, competing with players Zomato and Swiggy.

After much buzz, UberEATS has launched in India increasing competition between food delivery platforms through online ordering like Zomato , Swiggy, FoodPanda and others.

As the first move towards exploring Indian opportunities, It has started of with services in Mumbai  while it has hinted towards a massive launch across India.

Bhavik Rathod was announced as the Head of UberEATS India. With about 200 restaurants  It has already tied up with restaurants like The Bohri Kitchen, Le15, Coffee by Di Bella, FreshMenu, Chaayos, and The Good Wife, to name a few.

Playing with the rival Swiggy which charges Rs. 30 for each of its order delivery , UberEATS will charge a delivery fee of Rs 15 per order with no minimum order value .

It is claimed that UberEATS will focus on faster deliveries than its rivals and soon bring down the wait time lower than standard 35 minutes.

Consumers will be able to use the app to discover new food items. The consumer app comes with specific features such as curation and specialization, scheduled orders and customised drop-off.

However, restaurants will use the UberEATS app in a different way helping the food joints to reach out to new customers. The partner app has some features such as restaurant manager and guided pick-ups.
Until now, The stand-alone app is currently available in 78 cities of 26 countries. The app is available for download on Android and iOS shortly.
