Skull consists of 22 bones, 8 in the brain and 14 in the face.

The vertebral column consists of 33 bones: 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, 5 sacral and 4 in the tail region.

Upper Limbs Both the hands contain 60 bones: In each upper limb, topmost 1 bone, from top to elbow 2 bones, from elbow to wrist 2 bones, in the wrist 8 bones, in the palm 5 bones, and in fingers 14 bones.

Lower Limbs Both the legs contain 60 bones: In each lower limb, from hip to knee 1 bone, knee 1 bone, from knee to ankle joint 2 bones, in ankle joint 7 bones, in foot 5 bones, in fingers 14 bones.

The strongest muscle in our body

Our muscular strength is another astonishing body fact, though looks very delicate but is unbelievable and is measured in different ways. If we are to the muscle that can exert the most force, then it is our calf muscle. However, if we want to find the muscle that can exert the most pressure, then the jaw muscle. The human jaw can exert a force as great as 200 pounds.

Sweat is mostly made up of water

Talking of sweat, our sweat contains 99% water. But, how much one is sweating is unique to each individual.  It can be based on gender or age. Usually, this body fact is not aware to a large number of people.

Neurons

These are like electric wires in our body. It sends signals from the brain to all parts of the body and vice versa. It is amazing to know that there are 80 billion neurons in our body and cells are 60 trillion in number. 80 billion neurons are coordinating with our 60 trillion cells. Each neuron has 82 GB capacity.  Neurons are the best networker in our body. This is an outstanding body fact; if this would not have been there then we would have been useless on this earth.

Eyes

Our eyes are always of the same size since birth, it never grows. The only part of the body that has no blood supply in the eyes is the cornea. It is but sure that this body fact is not at all known by the people. It receives oxygen directly from the air. The retina of our eyes contains 137 million light-sensitive cells in which 130 million are to identify a black and white vision and 7 million help us in identifying the color.

Elements in the body

The healthy human body contains sufficient substances in the body which can add on to our other body facts:  It contains enough quantity of sulfur which can kill all the fleas on the average dog, contains enough carbon which can make 900 pencils, enough potassium to fire a toy cannon, enough fat to make seven bars of soap and enough water to fill a 50-liter barrel.

Brain

The human brain is amazing; it has a memory of more than four terabytes on a hard drive. Human brain gives enormous electrical impulses in a day which can be compared to all the telephones of the world combined. One lakh chemical reactions occur in the human brain every second. In addition to it a remarkable body fact is that at the time of birth, there are 14 billion cells in the human brain. This number never increases throughout a person’s lifetime. But after 25 years, the number of cells decline by 100,000 every day. After 40 years, the decline of the brain go faster sharply, and after 50 years neurons (that is, nerve cells) shrink and the brain gets smaller.
