rectal cancer

Our digestive system starts from the mouth and ends at the anus. Just above anus lies the rectum. The digestive system is the most important part of our body as it has the prime responsibility to provide the necessary nutrients to each and every part of our body. The major nutrients required by our body are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, and water. These nutrients should be in a balanced amount, and if it gets imbalanced then we suffer from some of the other problems inside our body. So, everything starts in the stomach, for this one should eat simple and natural food and if possible more of uncooked food. But usually this doesn’t happen because we become slaves to our sense organs as eyes see the wide variety of oily, spicy, sugary and fried food items then nose sense its smell and finally tongue sense its taste and makes us eat, which in fact this food is not required by our body as it is very tough for our digestive system to digest it properly. This un required food item generates toxins which get accumulated in the weaker part of our body, which is different for different people and this is how the birth of rectal cancer also takes place amongst other cancers and many other problems of ill health.

Rectal cancer is a kind of abnormality that develops in the cells of the rectum.

Rectal cancer does not arise instantly rather it takes a long time to develop into cancerous tissue. For a better understanding, it is very important to know how it grows.

In Stage 0, the birth of this problem takes place and only the innermost layer of the rectum wall contains abnormal cells. If not controlled here then it further grows and switches over to next stage.

In Stage 1 Cancer cells spread past the innermost layer of the rectum wall, but not to lymph nodes. If ignored here too, leads to stage 2.

Stage 2 of rectal cancer shows the spread into the outer muscle layer of the rectum wall, but not to lymph nodes. This is often referred to as stage 2A. In stage 2B, rectal cancer gets spread into the abdominal lining. Now the multiplication of cells takes its speed and jumps to stage 3.

Stage 3 of the whole process is the spread of unwanted cells from the outermost muscle layer of the rectum to one or more lymph nodes. Stage 3 further has three sub-stages 3A, 3B, and 3C based on the amount of lymph tissue affected. After reaching stage 3C, the control of these cells is impossible and now moves on to stage 4.

Stage 4 is the most dangerous phase of rectal cancer and now it is ready to damage other organs of the body like the liver or lungs.

In 2012, more than 40,000 people in the United States were diagnosed with colorectal cancer, making it the third most common cancer in both men and women. It is said about 5% of Americans will develop colorectal cancer during their lifetimes. Rectal cancer is not something that it cannot be cured, but highly curable if detected in the early stages. Even in the chronic stages, it can be cured through natural treatment but it is a slow process and secondly, the patient‘s will power should be so strong which should not be shaken by others in adopting the naturopathy treatment.

Cause of rectal Cancer

The exact cause of rectal cancer is not known but, yes more likely to occur as people get older, and more than 90% of people with this disease are diagnosed after the age of 50 years. Other risk factors include a family history of colorectal cancer and a personal history of inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis, colorectal polyps or cancers of other organs.

Symptoms of rectal cancer

Rectal cancer treatment

Surgery is the only remedy to remove the tumor.  Chemotherapy is done to the target cancer cells. It is often used along with radiation therapy, either before or after surgeryRadiation therapy uses high-powered beams, like X-rays, to kill cancer cells.

How one can prevent rectal cancer?

Rectal cancer can be controlled very easily. The real originators are the rectal polyps, detection and removal of these polyps reduce the risk of getting rectal cancer. Though not definitely proven, there is some evidence that diet may play a significant role in preventing colorectal cancer. As far as we know, a diet high in fiber (whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts) and low in fat is the only dietary measure that might help prevent rectal cancer.
