Patriotic Movies of Akshay Kumar

Patriotic Movies of Akshay Kumar: The only name that comes to our mind when we talk about the most disciplined Bollywood actor is, Akshay Kumar. His daily routine is no mystery as he is the most “Sanskari” actor we have in the not so “Sanskari” industry. But Akki, not only has a different lifestyle, but the character he plays on-screen is also offbeat and unique. His choice of subject and has never let him down because he is known as the patriotic actor.

Everyone usually focuses on actors’ personal and professional life, relationship and linkups, and there is nothing wrong in feeding the audience with spices (they but it after all). I have planned something different. I was having a look at Akshay Kumar’s career and found something that is not unusual but unnoticed, I would say. So, here I am, with the list of Patriotic Movies of Akshay Kumar.

Akki has a huge fan following, not only among youngsters but children and the older generation as well. It is because of the variety of films he has done. There is no match when we speak of his comic timing, but he nails it when it comes to playing an inspector, soldier, or a common man like Keshav of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. He wins all hearts by doing justice to all his characters. Since he entered Bollywood, he is doing films like Khiladi where he played the role of Police Inspector. But those films were not as remarkable as the recent movies like Baby.

Has Akshay Kumar become the next Manoj Kapoor of Bollywood?

He believes movies to be a source of influencing people, and he makes the correct use of it.

“I feel what I am doing through films, I’ll never be able to do through politics. The power of cinema is unbelievable…”Akshay Kumar

See, Digression is what will eat my job, got lost in what Akshay thinks, but I am sure you were not bored. Okay, let us not digress anymore and start with the list of Patriotic Movies of Akshay Kumar.

HOLIDAY

HOLIDAY

The complete title, Holiday- a Soldier Is Never off Duty itself introduces the subject, and all of us have admired the character of Viraat who was the captain of D.I.A. We saw how he returned his home for vacations, which turned out to be another mission for him. The film was not much interesting at the start when he met Saiba (Sonakshi Sinha), and his love story begun, but it did capture all our attention when he saw a bomb explosion. So, Akshay Kumar followed the terrorist and got him arrested. If it was a common person, his duty would have ended there. But, Akshay did not stop there, he called his friends from the army and handled the matter.

Baby

Baby

In Baby, the country again is under threat of terrorism and the character Ajay, who is a spy, saves the nation with his team. The film highlighted the fact that common people always complain about minor concerns, but they are always unaware of the significant threats, which spies have to concentrate on to ensure a safer life for the public. The movie focuses on how there are some unknown people who put national safety before their own family and self.

“Mil Jaate Hain Kuch Officers Hamein, Thode Pagal, Thode Adiyal, Jinke Dimag Mein Sirf Desh Aur Desh Bhakti Ghumti Rehti Hai. Yeh Desh Ke Liye Marna Nahin Chahte, Balki Jeena Chahte Hain… Taaki Akhri Saans Tak Desh Ki Raksha Kar Sakein.” This dialogue by Danny Denzongpa has very well highlighted what the movie wants to tell about officers.

Gabbar Is Back

Gabbar Is Back

The movie was the remake of a Tamil movie and was released in 2015. In this movie, Akshay did not play police, soldier, or spy. He was a common man and a victim of the corrupt system and unites a team of youngsters to seek revenge and to punish the corrupt officers. He played the role of a college professor Aditya, whose pregnant wife dies in a building crash, and nobody from the department of police, or law punished the culprits. That is when he enlisted all the corrupt officers and started punishing them one after another.

Rustam

Rustam

Most people failed to understand the patriotism in Akshay Kumar’s Film Rustam and understood as a personal incident of a navy officer’s life which was actually not the case. The story continuous around the murder case of VikramMakhija a friend of Akshay himself who he later discovered had an affair with his wife Ileana D’Cruz. The story seems to be a revenge story, as Akshay shot three bullets and surrendered at the start. But, later on, we discovered that it was somehow related to the corruption that was happening at his workplace. Akshay had solid proofs against his seniors who were planning to kill him and after getting the documents from him. That’s how he found the lockup to be the most secure place until he resolved the matter with his wife.

Airlift

Airlift

Airlift is the story of Ranjit Katyal, who had always been a Kuwaiti by heart and had no patriotism for India. He was a businessman, but luck had something else in store for him. The country faces a dangerous situation and all Indians were suddenly under the threat. He, who felt himself a part of Iraq and had strong relationships with influential people saw no hope of help had he work hard to not only for his own family but all 170,000 Indians as used all his money and power to Airlift these people to return the own nation India. It is after all his struggle that he realized what it feels like to be in our own country, because it was, at last, the Indian govt. that sent 488 commercial flights to the dangerous situation and saved all of them.

I specifically used the name, Manoj Kumar, because he has made numerous patriotic movies at a time when the idea of nationalism was developing. He even used the same Bharat Kumar, as the name of all characters. In his movie Namaste London, which was quite similar to the latter’s PurabAurPacschim, Akshay has used the same rhetoric to refute some negative comments about India. He has continued to do patriotic movies since then and has continued to influence youngsters with his movies (Patriotic Movies of Akshay Kumar).
