A deadly mission to rescue Indian spies from the hands of Pakistan sounds fascinating. Something similar is brought up by Netflix’s upcoming series Bard of Blood trailer. The spy thriller stars Emraan Hashmi who brings us to the dark world of Indian agents.
The co-agents played by Sobhita Dhulipala and Vineet Kumar Singh, represent Indian agency in a rescue mission. The Bard of Blood trailer shows that their mission is not going to be a smooth ride. The story will revolve around an ex-agent Emraan Hashmi aka Kabir Anand who shares a bad past with the antagonist Jai deep Ahlawat and now lives as a civilian. However, he is brought back from his retirement by his boss Rajit Kapoor. Rajat Kapoor, who was earlier seen in the movie Raazi where he played a similar role, has made an image of an inspirational idol on screen and this gave the directors a reason to single out the actor.
As far as the Bard of Blood trailer is concerned, there is nothing unique in the plot that we have never seen before. Most of the Hollywood and Bollywood stories rope their protagonists in a similar way. So, it is still a question that how the show will manage to maintain a distinctive identity of its own.
As director of the series, RibhuDasgupta, who has previously worked with stars like Amitabh Bachchan in Te3n and is still working with Parineeti Chopra on his upcoming flick ‘The girl on the Train’, it is quite doubtful that he takes up a project with such a straight storyline. The fans are still waiting for some surprise to come up.
When asked about the Bard of Blood trailer, Dasgupta said, “This journey on Bard of Blood has been one which I will cherish all my life. It has changed me as a person and as a filmmaker for the best. Directing the series for Netflix, in association with Red Chillies Entertainment and Mr. Khan has been an extremely fulfilling experience. I am so glad I could be part of it and very excited about the trailer launch.”
The next Indian original Netflix series is based on Bilal Siddiqi’s novel with the same title. Though the Bard of Blood trailer did not succeed in flooding the internet, the series will release on 27th September.
