In 1983, the Indian Cricket Team won the Cricket World Cup in England. It was the first time ever that an Indian team won any prominent tournament and also for the first time ever any team apart from the West Indies won the world cup. It had lead India to win and also taught India to win!
The winning squad 1983 world cup comprised of Kapil Dev, Mohinder Amarnath, Sunil Gavaskar, Kirti Azad, Yashpal Sharma, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Roger Binny, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Sandeep Patil, Syed Kirmani, Madan Lal, Ravi Shastri, Dilip Vengsarkar & Sunil Valson, and their manager P R Man Singh.
’83’ film cast the story of those 14 men (Cricket players) who believed that they could win and they did it! The film is helmed by Kabir Khan and Produced by Phantom Films, Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Vibri Media, Reliance Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films.

A few days ago, Ranveer Singh shared a picture with Kapil Dev(83 poster released), the legend himself is training Ranveer and his team to reprise the 1983 Cricket World Cup win.
The actors are enjoying the training and the shoot and had shared their playful pictures from Dharamsala. After the training in the city, the cast and crew of the film will be heading to London for the shoot. The historic victory of 1983 world cup has been very well framed and will be executed at its best, Kabir Khan’s upcoming directorial will star Ranveer Singh as the former captain of the Indian Cricket Team Kapil Dev. The film ’83 will be released(83 poster released) in three languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, it would be Ranveer Singh’s first trilingual film.
