After Kunalkamra viral video, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon came up in his support. Most of the airlines have banned KunalKamra when one of the videos showing his misbehavior towards journalist Arnab Goswami went viral.
KunalKamra himself shared the video where he can be seen heckling with the journalist on 28 th January in Mumbai-Lucknow flight. Consequently, the KunalKamra controversy forced Indigo airlines to ban the comedian for six months. Also, after the video reached to the offices of Air India, they too restricted him to board any flights. The captain of the flight, RohitMateti, wrote an official letter to the airline explaining that KunalKamra’s behavior can be classified as “unsavory”, but at the same time he cannot be called a “Level 1 Unruly passenger”.
Ever since then, there has been sharp criticism against the ban as civil aviation rules state clearly that if any passenger demonstrates level 1 unruly behavior, he/she can only be banned up to three months. Also, according to the protocols, the first complaint should have been filed by the captain. However, RohitMateti thinks that the comedian did not cross his line.

Supporting this unjust behavior, Raveena Tandon raised the issue of an organ donation event where she went with Dr. Madhu Chopra. She said “Ok, I like KunalKamra. Does that help? No? That doesn’t help! Actually, personally I don’t like him because he makes very personal and bad jokes but the ban on him was not justified. That I will stand for. Nonetheless, everyone has two sides of the coin.”
Kunal Kamra's act now seems almost like the only option to expose an establishment and its stooges. He called Arnab out in a very crude way and the response was a vulgar show of authoritarianism. Kamra's protest still does not feel right to me but i almost feel it was necessary.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta also supported the KunalKamra controversy. He discussed Arnab Goswami on his Tweeter handle saying “I used to know Arnab earlier – not exactly a friend but as someone passionate about news and debate. It is sad to see him becoming a preposterous, partisan and obnoxious servant of a dictatorial establishment. He symbolizes the mostly comatose state of tv journalism in India.”

Though Arnab has been a casual friend to Hansal, he does like the misconduct of airlines. Commenting on the matter he wrote “I did not like the way @kunalkamra88 heckled Arnab on a flight. I felt it was unnecessary and uncool coming from someone who usually criticizes such sharp wit. But seeing the even more uncool response by airlines (with govt blessings) to his behavior I have mixed feelings…KunalKamra’s act now seems almost like the only option to expose an establishment and its stooges.
