The fairytale story of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja takes a beautiful turn with the latter’s birthday bash. The couple tied a knot in May 2018 and recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare Sonam Kapoor gave the details of her first meeting with Anand. She told that the first time she met him, her friends were trying to fix a date between Sonam and Anand’s best friend. She met him in 2015 while she was busy promoting her then-upcoming film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. In the bar at Taj, Sonam Kapoor met her friends who had already invited two-three boys. She said “I was like, ‘I don’t want to date anybody. I don’t believe in marriage and all this nonsense’. I saw Anand and his friend. His friend was tall like me, liked reading like me and was a huge fan of Hindi movies. He was an educated and nice guy.”
Sonam Kapoor told that she and Anand were complete opposites but still got attracted to each other. After that meeting the couple starting talking and two weeks later Sonam Kapoor tells “we were talking on the phone when I asked him, ‘Do you still want me to talk to your friend?’ he said, ‘No, No! not at all. Talk to me. I’m keeping you for myself.”
She created a special album on Instagram including the duo’s wedding pictures, pictures from childhood and some with goofy poses. In Sonam Kapoor’s birthday special album she referred Anand as “love” expressing her affection towards the moment. To this Anand commented “why don’t I have any of these pictures!?!… you’re the best, literally the best. Every day with you is like a birthday love you toooooo much.”
The Kapoor family also shared pictures and wished the birthday boy. Anil Kapoor also comments on Instagram praising his son-in-law that since the day he has entered their lives, he has made it, much happier.
