shahid kapoor injury news

In the Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey, Shahid Kapoor gets to play the role of a retired cricketer who tries to make a comeback in the India cricket team. Though the movie was set to release in August this year, an injury on the lower lip of Shahid Kapoor might delay the release. According to the reports, the shoot of the film has stopped for a time period as Shahid Kapoor injured his lip on the sets and was spotted on Mumbai airport.

Twitter was filled with concern for the actor and thanking them, Shahid tweeted back saying

Shahid was spotted returning to Mumbai with his wife. As soon as Mira was informed about his injury, she rushed to Chandigarh and the couple returned to Mumbai where Shahid was seen covering his bruised lip with a mask. Earlier, pinkvilla report stated that Shahid’s injury was so severe that it needed stitches. It read “Shahid was playing perfectly fine and rehearsing before the shot when the ball unexpectedly came and hit him on the lower lip and cut open a wide gash where blood started gushing out! He was immediately taken for treatment and a doctor was rushed to see him. To close the wound stitches were sutured by the doctor.” A source told that the shoot will resume within 4-5 days as soon as the swelling on Shahid’s face will reduce. “All this has left the actor with a heavily bruised lower lip, and hence he will not be able to shoot for the film till the swelling subsides and the wound is healed to enable him to emote freely. As a thorough professional Shahid is doing everything in his power to speed up recovery so he can resume the shoot in 4 – 5 days.”
