Beware of new WhatsApp scam asking people for subscription fee:-

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging app all over the world. With the growing popularity, grown up are various issues. It has always been free in India. According to The Independent, a new text message is circulating among WhatsApp users that their subscription has expired. It also makes claim that they will gain lifelong free subscription of WhatsApp for a nominal amount of payment.

People are ignorant about the scamsters behind the message and are taking advantage of it. The message read, “To verify your account and purchase a lifetime subscription for just 0.99 GBP simply tap on this link.” 0.99 GBP is approximately Rs.82. The link is also shared on the message and this could be a way for the scamsters to get into the phones. It is advisable to not to click on such links and they should be reminded that the services of WhatsApp are free of cost.

It is also advisable to download a suitable anti-virus to prevent any trouble form opening such links. Users should block such numbers immediately. They do not have to pay anything for the services rendered by this App. Facebook’s great investment of $19 billion in the application has nothing to do with this messaging service.
