PITCH IN THIS DIWALI FOR THE NEEDY

Diwali or Deepawali is one of the most auspicious and irradiating festivals of the year. It is celebrated among the Hindus, Jains, Buddhists and Sikhs communities.

Apart from the mythological reason, behind its celebration i.e. to show the happiness among the people of Ayodhya, upon returning of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman from the exile of 14 years in the forest, this festival is also celebrated to mark the peace and kindness among each other.

Diwali is known as the festival of lights! Right ?

Then why not grab this Diwali as an opportunity to enlighten the lives of some needy by your efforts!

16th October was “World Food day”, where the statistics depict that India has won in accomplishing the “hunger medal”, during a virtual competition with all the countries of the world.

17th October was “Eradication of the poverty day”, where again the statistics portray the number of people struggling for their livelihood across the world!

Then why not 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st of October or the occasion of Diwali itself be the time in our lives, to offer something of worth to the ones who really need it.

The destitute, the poor, the footpath residents, the beggars, the road side street wanderers, someone who cannot even afford a roof over their heads are the real ones to who actually need your help!!!

When you are here shelling out for those beautifully gleaming dresses, diyas, and fire crackers and gold with your quintessential tantrums, there they sit at the other end of their poor world. They lay Numb, lost and hopeless, staring at awe at the illuminating city, the beautiful fire crackers decorating the sky, hearing the people cheering, laughing, eating etc., losing all hopes and the will to survive, because of their incapabilities or fate I may call!

These are the real people “to do something for” this Diwali.

Some few things that you can present them with are:

FOOD: You can offer food to the destitutes, who you see along your daily way or anyone you meet or find who’s needy. You will love to see them happy!

BLANKETS: With the hailing of winters, these people have also witnessed to have faced a tragic death since the past, just due to lack of the basic necessities like a roof, blanket etc.  So, this Diwali, with the onset of winter season, you can offer blankets to these needy and save their lives.

CLOTHES: These people can also be gifted with your old ignored clothes, that you no longer wear, mostly winter wears. It will help them to cover up their body and protect them to an extent against the biting cold!

Along with this, you can also offer them with diyas, sweets and fire crackers, just to illuminate a little light in their homes and lives.

You have absolutely no clue, what would you have done for them! Their unbound happiness will be showered upon you, and that happiness is actually bliss. To spread happiness is the real aim of life and look; you would have already done that! CONGRATS!
