In regard with the youth’s perception to carry off the gun to attain their aim of freedom aka ‘Azaadi‘ has been grimed by the army chief, Bipin Rawat on Wednesday stating firmly that such callous attitude will not hail ‘Azaadi‘ to the people as they cannot fight the stern security forces in the ravine.

During an interview with The Indian Express, Bipin Rawat also quoted that,  “I want to tell Kashmiri youth that Azadi isn’t possible. It won’t happen. Don’t get carried away unnecessarily. Why are you picking up weapons? We will always fight those who seek Azadi, those who want to secede. Azadi is not going to happen, never.”

Opinionating upon the number of militants been slain he unflinchingly stated that such killings don’t matter to him and the circle will be endless. However, new recruitments are being made but he also made it clear that all this is to no avail and nothing will be fetched out of it as they cannot fight the army.

Later on, expressing his grief by the numerous killings he cited that, “We don’t enjoy it. But if you want to fight us, then we will fight you with all our force. Kashmiris have to understand that the security forces haven’t been so brutal-look at Syria and Pakistan. They use tanks and air power in similar situations. Our troops have been trying their level best to avoid any civilian casualty despite huge provocation”.

He also revealed that although he has been thinking to call off the mission yet is also concerned about the safety of his men being in danger by the ceaseless firing at the valley, which can bubble out at any point of time at anyone be it the political worker, policemen, army or even at their vehicles, while returning home. He is in a stew for the dangling threat on his men!

He has time and again stated that military is never a solution to this hitch because of which he wants the political involvement by the leaders or the members, to head and converse with the people of South Kashmir, but he says that all of them are hell scared as they might be attacked at any point in time by South Kashmir men. He also said, “It will happen once there is calm. And we are hopeful that people will soon realize that all this is futile and start thinking differently.”

This has been an endless situation since Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani has been killed in an encounter by the Indian security force on July 8, 2016. Following this, huge chaos blew off in Kashmir, taking many lives and still counting.
