The New Immigration Rules have broken numerous dreams as people from October onwards won’t be able to get a visa, or green card if they are not “self-sufficient.” The administration of US President, on Monday, announced the adjustment in US immigration rules. The US govt. has taken this decision to prevent immigrants from getting public facilities reserved for permanent residents of the US.
“Through the public charge rule, President Trump’s administration is reinforcing the ideals of self-sufficiency and personal responsibility, ensuring that immigrants are able to support themselves and become successful here in America,” – Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
According to the New US rules, the authority will not only reject visa applications but the application for permanent citizenship as well. The conditions for getting permanent citizenship have also updated by the immigration department of the US. The US would no more provide permanent citizenship to economically week members, who initially used to get a green card after marriage. President Donald Trump said in an interview that to ensure better facilities for US citizens, it is necessary to stop migrants from receiving public facilities such as medical benefits, welfare, food stamps, public housing, and so on.

“Large numbers of non-citizens and their families have taken advantage of our generous public benefits, limited resources that could otherwise go to vulnerable Americans,” according to the statement. The White House on Monday declared that the administration has redefined the meaning of “public charge” and will longer offer visa and citizenship to poor people who are not self-sufficient and require public services. The authority will first check the income level, and if any applicant fails to match up to the standard income level, then they will reject his visa or citizenship application.
For those who are already staying in America on visa and receiving facilities, the govt. has decided to reject their applications for permanent citizenship.
