PM Modi Tweets Condolences, after a massive fire engulfed a commercial complex in Surat on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences to the victims who died after a massive engulfed a private art coaching centre.

At least 19 students, including 16 girls, died and several got injured after a massive fire broke out into the private art coaching centre, on third floor of a commercial complex in Sarthana area of Surat city.

PM Modi has urged the local authorities and government of Gujarat to provide all possible assistance to the affected.

“Extremely anguished by the fire tragedy in Surat. My thoughts are with bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. I have asked the Government of Gujrat  and local authorities to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” PM Narendra Modi tweeted.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani said he had instructed officials to do the needful after the incident, which has claimed 15 lives so far.

Vijay Rupani on twitter wrote, “Deeply saddened by the news of Surat fire tragedy. Instructed officials to do needful. My prayers are with all those affected. May injured recover at the earliest. I pray for the departed souls. Om Shanti.”

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on twitter has also expressed sorrow over the same incident, he said, I am deeply saddened for the loss of precious lives of students due to fire broke out. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased students. I pray for the fast recovery of the injured students.

Darshana Jardosh, MP from Surat, said, “Words cannot describe the terrible tragedy that has taken place in Sarthana in Surat. My sincere condolences to the families of the children who lost their lives. All those responsible for this will not be spared & will be brought to justice.”

BJP chief minister, Amit Shah also reacted on the incident and said, I Deeply anguished by the loss of lives due to a tragic fire accident in Surat. Amit shah has also expressed his condolences with the bereaved families, he also said, I pray for the speedy recovery of injured. I urge our karyakartas to assist the people in need.”

The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm on Friday at Takshashila complex. At least 19 died, students who lost their life were aged between 14 and 17. However, some students jumped from the third and fourth floor of the building and escaped.
