Just a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech with respect to CAA controversies and the myth created by the opposition of fuelling fear among people and misleading Muslims over the amended citizenship law, the opposition has evoked up to target the government again today. While Sonia and Rahul Gandhi will lead the Congress protest at Delhi’s Raj Ghat, the DMK will hold protests in Chennai.

Protests will also be held at UP and Assam Bhavan in Delhi, along with demonstrations in Bengaluru and Kochi, while students at Pondicherry University will boycott their convocation that is to be headed by President Ram Nath Kovind.

PM Narendra Modi on Sunday (22.12.2019), addressed a rally at Ramlila Maidan and said the citizenship amended and the proposed National Register of Citizens have nothing to do with Indian Muslims and moreover NRC has not even come up yet and no rules and regulations are made on it.

He also said that, the opposition is spreading a lie and that this government had not brought the law to snatch people’s rights rather giving them rights. The prime minister also gave an open challenge and said and if any contender can find anything discriminatory in his work, he can bring forward.

Modi declared as oppositions were not able to challenge him in elections, then they have resorted to dividing the country through rumors. He also added that the Congress and ‘urban Naxals’ are spreading fake news about detention centers in India, whereas, no such camps are existing in India. Modi was on the stage and almost gave a 100-minute speech, which he started with the slogan of ‘vividhta me Ekta, Bharat ki visheshta’ (Unity in diversity is India’s specialty), to alleviate concerns of Muslims and said they should look at his “track record” and not listen to “tape record” of his rivals.
