Traffic Advisory Issued by Gurgaon Police For New Year’s Eve

As the New Year Eve is at its peak and for maintaining smooth passage for commuters and city residents, Gurgaon traffic police on Monday (30.12.2019) issued a traffic advisory advising motorists to park their vehicles only in assigned areas and not on the roads.

Commuters are also advised to park their vehicles at the located parking spots only. Parking on the roads will be strictly prohibited and vehicles parked on the road will be towed away by Gurgaon traffic police said by DCP (Traffic) Himanshu Garg.

Police had alerted masses and city residents; a detailed advisory with a color-coded map for people visiting Sector 29 markets. It has been issued separately, and also available on Gurgaon Police’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

The following route for Sector-29 will remain closed for vehicular traffic; red light near Machan restaurant to Crown Plaza Chowk, and Leisure Valley Road from Crown Plaza Chowk to Leisure Valley Park T Point.

The passage from Sector 29 red light (near Machan restaurant) to the intersection near the Kingdom of Dreams will be operating as a one-way road only for the New Year’s eve.

The traffic police also directed masses passing by to go towards Sector-29 market from NH-48 will be following the blue line and park their vehicle in the allocated parking area.

Police officials informed that people encroaching from Signature Tower to Sector-29 market are requested to follow the yellow line, they have to take their leave from Lemon Tree Hotel and go straight towards the parking area.

Masses coming from MG Road are advised to follow the green line, take a right after IFFCO Chowk metro station and go straight towards the parking area, he said.

Leisure Valley Ground has been assigned for the parking area. Vehicles parked elsewhere will be towed away claimed by the DCP.

Further people have also been informed about the road closures on Google Maps. Police traffic officials will be on the spot to smooth the progress of the traffic said by Mr. Garg.

The advisory released by Police stated that police teams will be positioned at various points in Gurgaon to check for the cases of drunken driving.

He had also refreshed the penalty charges for drunken driving as per the amended Motor Vehicles Act, which is Rs 10,000 and the driving license is liable to be suspended for three months. He further advised people not to drive vehicles in an intoxicated state for their own safety
