Republic Day 2020, Latest Updates

As an Indian Kerala’s MP attitude is totally against the Nations pride and prestige. When these people cannot respect the nation then why they are holding the chair, they should sit in the couch of their home as they cannot be the role model of masses.  People like him have spoiled the nations name and fame. It is pity how people are tolerating such MP’s, he should be thrown out of the chair immediately.  Such negative people should not be given any importance. Who is he to suggest what Prime Minister has to do? He knows what he is doing, these people think they are very intelligent, but they forget that where there thought process ends from there the thought process of PM Modi starts.

He wrote a letter to PM inscribing his annoyance on the invitation to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro as the Chief Guest at the national Republic Day celebrations, 26 January Parade in Delhi. The Rajya Sabha member and senior CPI leader Binoy Viswam on Friday (24.01.2020) declined the government’s invitation to attend the official ceremony, Republic Day Parade on Sunday (26.01.2020).

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Viswam said that government had invited Bolsonaro inspite of his ideology and policies are imperfect, misogyny, homophobia and discrimination.

Republic Day 2020, Chief Guest President Bolsanaro

On Friday, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro arrived in Delhi for his four day visit to India. He was welomed by Modi.

PM Modi added that Bolsonaro’s visit to India will add strength to India-Brazil relationship. The visit of Bolsonaro, who is the Republic day Chief Guest, is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations in the field of agriculture, energy and defence.

Reaction of Kerala’s MP on Republic Day Ceremony Chief Guest

MP said his actions in Brazil and at the global stage are directly against the very ethos of the Indian Constitution that we celebrate on Republic Day Ceremony. President Bolsanaro’s indifference and inaction for over two months when the Amazon rainforest was burning has cause irreparable damage, and also stated that as a country has committed for addressing climate change, India must criticize the Brazilian president for his action.

Further he had expressed his disappointment over the government move and reminded the Prime Minister, that the same Brazilian President had sought actions against India in the WTO for providing aid to the struggling sugarcane farmers in the country.

His actions were a direct threat to the livelihood for over 5 crore sugarcane farming families in India and your invitation to him shows a complete disregard for your own citizen and their journey said by Viswan to the Prime Minister.

A senior leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Binoy Viswam was the Forest Minister in the VS Achuthananthan government during 2006-2011. He is currently serving as the president of the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Employees’ Federation.
