A very shocking and painful recent case of Unnao, UP where a 20-year-old woman was set on fire today (05.12.2019).
A 20-year-old woman, who was the survivor of a brutal rape some time ago, was set ablaze in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao by a group of men on Thursday (05.12.2019). The five men, who had raped her in March this year 2019, are alleged to be behind the latest attempt to kill her.
Police rushed to the spot after the incident and took the woman to a nearby government hospital where she has been admitted in a critical condition. She was later transferred to a Lucknow hospital for better treatment as her condition was severe. The victim’s only fault was that she had earlier filed a rape case against them.
This whole incident occurred at Sindupur village under the Bihar police station area and this has caused tension in the entire area.
All the five men involved in the crime including the main accused Shivam Trivedi have been arrested by the Police.
According to sources one of these five men, the main culprit is the son of the village pradhan against whom the woman had lodged a rape complaint. An FIR was lodged on March 4 by the woman who was set on fire today.
The woman was walking to the nearby railway station under when the group approached her and the rapist and his friends took the woman outside her village and dragged her into the fields and drenched her in petrol before setting her on fire. She was raped by the five men in March while the police could manage to arrest only three of them and two others were still on the run.
When police reached the spot they found her in a severely burnt condition while the accused men had run away by then.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra commented at the UP government and accused it of lying about the law and order situation in the state.
In a tweet on the Unnao incident, Gandhi said, “Yesterday the Union home minister and the chief minister of UP lied about the law and order situation in the state. Seeing such incidents every day makes one angry. BJP leaders should also stop with the fake propaganda now.
For every situation whether it is a serious or non-serious matter always the politics is played and in the true sense, nobody is worried about the adversities in the country.
