Rangers Football Club, an International club on Wednesday (29.01.2020) declared the signing contract of Indian Women Football Team attacker Bala Devi with the Foreign Club. She is the expert football player of “India women’s football team”. She belongs to Manipur Police Sports Club, and the first to acquire the international platform.

She is a 29-year-old woman had joined the club as a deal for 18-months, after a successful trial at Rangers in November 2019. She played remarkably good and her hard work brought flourishing results. She became the first Indian woman professional footballer player to play anywhere in the world and she also became the Rangers’ first Asian international footballer.

Bala is the current top scorer for the Indian National women’s team, she won 52 times in 58 games since 2010, and not only this, she has also proved to be the top international goal scorer in the South Asian region. In South Asian Games 2019, Bala Devi brought laurels to India in 3rd Straight Gold at SAG.

She has also served as a captain in the national team in a distinguished international career. She had begun all this at the age of 15. Bala also had a prolific goal scoring record at the domestic level with over 100 goals in 120 games. She has been the top scorer in the Indian Women’s League for the past two seasons and has also been named as All India Football Federation (AIFF) Women’s Player of the Year twice, in 2015 and 2016.

Bala, speaking about her gratification at signing for Rangers, said that to play football in Europe with one of the biggest clubs in the world is something she has never dreamt of. She hopes that her move to Rangers serves as an example to all the Indian women footballers, who keeps a dream of taking up the sport professionally.

Bala Devi is highly enthusiastic and looking forward to the best of training facility and coaching and is certain to benefit immensely from the standard of training and competition. She had also paid her gratitude to Amy McDonald, the coaching staff and the entire management at Rangers for believing in her. She had also thanked and acknowledged Bengaluru FC, which wouldn’t have been possible without their guidance and training throughout. She is very eager to join her teammates and to give the best shot.

In response to Bala Devi, Amy McDonald, Women’s and Girls’ Football Manager at Rangers FC said that “they are also thrilled to welcome Bala to the Rangers”. Amy also said, Bala is a playmaker who likes to play as a number 10 and they believe she will be a great contributor to goals and would assist the team. She will provide them with an attacking threat in the sport and being a versatile player would benefit to them in the 2020 season.

Further Amy added that, Bala is already a role model for girls across India and now they would see her travel across the world and would become a professional footballer. Her move can be Inspirational to other players everywhere and would become their role model.
