ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match 10 –Australia beat West Indies and Won the match by 15 runs.

Australia 288 (Brathwaite 3-67, Smith 73, Coulter Nile 92) beat West Indies 273 for 9 (Starc 5-46, Holder 51, Hope 68) by 15 runs in the 10th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl on an overcast morning. The West Indies took it upon themselves to make a positive early impression and despite a few wayward early deliveries.

A match that ebbed and flowed throughout could have over quickly when the West Indies pace attack reduced the defending champions to 38-4 and 79-5.

The defending champions were put to the sword by the West Indies’ fiery fast bowling outfit and determined batting performance. But record-breaking performances from Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mitchell Starc helped Australia 288 beat West Indies 273/9 by 15 runs in the 10th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Nathan Coulter-Nile (92) and Steve Smith (73) forced Australia to a competitive total after collapsing early to 4-38. But on a relatively good pitch, it still looked like being just short of a par score.

In the run of the chase, the Windies were on track and looked to be cruising to victory, but Australia took enough wickets at timely intervals to remain in the hunt.

West Indies got off to a poor start as both openers Chris Gayle (21) and Ewin Lewis (1) fell cheaply in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match at Trent Bridge. Lewis was dismissed in the 2nd over by Pat Cummins and Chris Gayle was sent back by Mitchell Starc in the 6th over. While West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals, Shai Hope and Jason Holder kept the Carribean side in the hunt.

As West Indies could muster only 273 from their 50 overs Australia recorded their 2nd win of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament.

Australia next faces India at The Oval in London on Sunday in the 14th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
