Pakistan beat England by 14 runs in the 6th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Monday.
Finally, Pakistan has ended their 11-match losing streak after they were white-washed by England 4-0 and Australia 5-0. They had put a brilliant bowling display to defend 348 runs on a batting-friendly track, to defeat England by 14 runs.
Earlier, Hafeez missed the chance to become the 1st centurion of the ICC World Cup 2019, but an improved batting display from Pakistan saw them make 348 for 8 against England.
Pakistan finally managed a win against England, riding on the performances from Shadab Khan 2/63 and Wahab Riaz 3/82. The batting order has also played a crucial role in Pakistan’s win as Mohammad Hafeez scored 84 runs and Babar Azam scored 63 runs.
Man of the match
Mohammad Hafeez, who produced an all-round show to help Pakistan win against the hosts and top-ranked side England by 14 runs was declared as the man of the match. He scored 84 runs and picked a wicket of Eoin Morgan.
