IPL 2018 will be interesting with many basic changes with its 11th edition this year.  There are players from all around the world  in IPL.

Here is a look at things that will be happening for the very first time in the history of IPL :

1. CSK and RR are back

The two suspended team Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be back this year. It would be interesting to see these two teams after their suspension for two years. Both the teams are very famous, and CSK won 2010 IPL  and RR won 2011 IPL.

Both the teams were suspended because of spot fixing and betting of the owners. Chennai Super Kings is popular, nevertheless. The team is popular due to the presence of M.S.Dhoni in it. RR, too, is a popular team.

The IPL fans are raring to welcome both the teams on cricket ground this year.

2. Player Retention

There will the same eight teams that were present in first ever IPL tournament this year . Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants have been replaced by Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.  The five old players can be retained by each team this year. The player retention can be done either by direct retention or by right to match method.

With direct retention, a team can retain maximum three players.  It is necessary for the team to have two uncapped players, two overseas players and three capped Indian players.

A player can be retained by the specific team if he has been sold in the auction. . The team also needs to pay the same money for which the player was bought in the bid. A team can also get the specific player that was not retained earlier in the past due to this,  and the team is required to pay the full amount. This is what happens under right to match method.

3. IPL Auction Principle

Every team can retain a maximum of five players by adding RTM and normal retention method. . Unlike 2011 and 2014, there is no visible change here. . This retention player will change all finance expenses of the auction.

Moreover, it will help many teams with a lot of money.  The reason being that many popular players would not be in the auction pool. These are the players such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, M.S Dhoni, David Miller who can change the game at a rate of knots and in no time.  The retention of many popular players in their teams will make many teams cheerful.

Lots of entertainment and cheering ahead in this IPL, for sure!
