Passion can take anyone to heights. This is what created by Aishwarya Pissay. On Monday Aishwarya Pissay became the first Indian to claim a world title in motorsports.

Aishwarya is 23-year-old bagged the FIM World Cup in the women’s category after completing the final round of the championship in Hungary.

Aishwarya Pissay after having secured podium finishes in two out of four rounds of the championship led the leader board going into the final round of the championship. She had started the Hungarian Baja with a seven point lead and managed to maintain momentum throughout the race, finished the race with a tally of 65 points, four points more than Portugal’s Rita Vieira in the final overall standings for women.

Aishwarya Pissay from Bengaluru had won the first round in Dubai and was placed third in the Portugal leg. She was also placed second in the junior category with 46 points, behind championship winner Tomas de Gavardo (60) of Chile.

 

Motorsport World Title

International Motorcycling Federation, the governing body for motor racing in the world had conducted this event.

Aishwarya (52) and Vieira (45) were the top contenders for the World Cup after Going into the Hungarian Baja. Pissay completed the race and fourth place, which was enough to see of the completion.

Thrilled Pissay said after the podium ceremonies that this title is absolutely awesome and she was out of words. She said that, in her first international season, she met with an accident in Spain Baja and suffered many injuries and found her career threatening and now to come out as a winner after lots of troubles and winning the championship, is a great feeling.

Aishwarya told it was a tough phase of her life, but believed in herself and was determined to get back on the bike which she regularly had practised for nearly six months. So, winning the World Cup is gigantic for me and in future would do much better and improve her performance after gaining this experience.

The governing body in India Federation, Motor Sports Clubs of India,  congratulated Aishwarya for her historic performance. “Aishwarya Pissay of TVS clinches the FIM Baja World Cup 2019 Women’s Category. She finished 4th in the Hungary Round which concluded today. FMSCI congratulated India’s first FIM World Cup champion,” FMS tweeted.
