Maharashtra is facing a major political crisis as NCP’s Ajit Pawar joined the Shinde-Fadnavis government as Deputy CM on Sunday.

After this major collapse, Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar said he will build a new leadership to get more energy to work in case such situations come up in future. He said people will see new teams of NCP everywhere.

Along with Ajit Pawar, Eight other NCP MLAs including Chhagan Bhujpal and Dilip Walse Patil were also made ministers in the Shinde-Fadnavis Government.

Nationalist Congress Party was formed in 1999 by Sharad Pawar and now his nephew Ajit Pawar broke the party and joined Shinde’s government. After Ajit Pawar’s separation, NCP appointed Jitendra Awhad as the chief.

National President of NCP Youth Wing, Dheeraj Sharma Said:

It’s their personal decision and has nothing to do with the party. We just want to say that the whole party is standing with Pawar Sahab. Without Pawar Sahab, there is no NCP. The whole country and the state of Maharashtra, the people of Maharashtra are strongly standing with Pawar Sahab.

Supriya Sule gives her statement on Ajit Pawar’s revolt:

My relationship with Ajit Pawar will not change, he will always remain my elder brother. We will rebuild the party. Thoughts and hate are different things, NCP never had hate inside the party or any misunderstanding, Ajit Pawar had different thoughts and we have different ones. We respect all our MLAs. I always speak with party workers & leaders, I spoke with them yesterday also and tomorrow also I will speak with them.

NCP filed disqualification petition against 9 MLAs

“We have filed a disqualification petition to the speaker of the assembly and we will send hard documents as soon as possible. This disqualification petition was filed against 9 leaders. They didn’t inform anyone that they are leaving the party which is against the NCP. We have also written a letter to the election commission of India. We are not accepting this, these 9 leaders didn’t inform us before doing this (leaving the party). We believe most of the MLAs will come back to NCP and we will accept them again.”

Supriya Sule’s Statement on BJP

BJP is 24×7 in election mood…BJP, which called the NCP a corrupt party, is now welcoming our leaders. How? I don’t want to comment on who will be the candidates of BJP. I will concentrate on my work rather than peeking inside others’ lives…I am always with NCP and truth, I face these types of challenges every day. This one (Ajit Pawar’s revolt) is a new challenge for me.

Other Parties Interference

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi spoke to Sharad Pawar to extend support.

Samaana’s Statement

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena claimed NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who has been sworn in as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, would replace Chief Minister Eknath Shinde soon.

An editorial in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ claimed the Bharatiya Janata Party under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has not only “muddied” politics of Maharashtra but also of the country.

KC Venugopal’s statement on PM Modi

“PM Modi made a big allegation recently against the NCP leaders for corruption and now we saw this drama. It is a clear sponsored game of ED and their agencies. It will not affect MVA. We will fight against BJP more aggressively. This is not going to affect opposition unity, this is NCP’s issue. Sharad Pawar is the tallest leader of the party and he will be able to handle the situation. Some leaders changing the party does not mean that the supporters of the party and other members will go with them.”

Sharad Pawar’s statement

Today, in Maharashtra and the country, a rift is being created between the society in the name of caste and religion by some groups.

NCP Maharashtra President Jayant Patil

We sent a petition to the Assembly speaker last night. We requested him to hear us. Our party’s strength in the assembly is 53, of which 9 have defected, the rest all are with us. We will give them a fair chance to come back but will take action against those who do not come back.
