A tweet was shared by a twitter user reporting that a man from a small village of Moodabidri ran much faster than the traditional buffalo race, covering 142.50 meters in just 13.62 seconds.

❒ Buffalo Race
This brave man was identified as Srinivas Gowda, 28 years old and belongs to Moodabidri in Dakshina Kannada district. According to a tweet, he ran 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds at a “Kambala” or also named as Buffalo race, which is run over in a slushy paddy field. The report says that he has run 100 meters in just 9.55 seconds, which is greater than Usain Bolt’s record of 9.58 seconds in 100 meters’ race.
Kambala’ race is not the new race rather it is a traditional race that involves buffalo. It is a traditional seasonal buffalo race in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts’ farming community.
❒ The Facts of Buffalo Race
The image tweeted reveals that the man is running alongside a pair of buffalo and there is water around, both the buffalo and purpose to pour the water, acted as a speed restraints.
Coming to the records, this cannot be compared with the Bolt’s record as the Kambala racer was running alongside a pair of buffaloes and the speed generated was also because of the animals. But the interesting fact is that the race was run in a syrupy field, which can only be a speed obstacle.
