Latest News Updates of the Myanmar’s President Visit to India

Myanmar’s President U Win Myint’s visit to India had brought some good favours to both the countries on Thursday (27.02.2020). The Myanmar president met Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and external affairs minister S Jaishankar. The meeting of Myanmar’s president and PM Modi had finally ended up by signing 10 agreements, where four were aimed at boosting development of Rakhine state for the smooth progress of the return of Rohingya refugees.

Myanmar India Agreement 2020

The launch of a bus service between Imphal in Manipur and Mandalay in Myanmar from April 7, 2020, has also been announced. This initiative would lead to improve connectivity and people-to-people contacts. Private operators of both the countries have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch the service.

The various agreements are, four MoUs are specific to Rakhine state and would be covering the construction of facilities such as an incinerator, seed storage houses and water supply systems, solar power systems for five townships, and two roads and preschools will also be constructed.

Other MoUs are related to petroleum products, communications, and conservation of tigers and other wildlife said by the external affairs ministry.
