Ashish Nehra to retire from competitive cricket on November 1, won’t play IPL

One of the most dexterous players of our country, Ashish Nehra has declared that he would retire from the competitive cricket on November 1 and thus, even won’t be a part of the nearing IPL!

Ashish Nehra, 28 years old, has already vented his this decision to both the coach Ravi Shastri as well as the Captain Virat Kohli.

He has been a sport and even gave credence to the fact that, his retirement would only propel the new juniors to experience a longer rope, with ICC not accrediting any World T20 in 2018.

He has been a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squadron in 2017 team but had failed to play due to injuries.

Marking his debut dating back to 1999, Nehra has so far played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 26 T20 Internationals for the country. He has also picked 44 Test wickets, besides 157 ODI and 34 T20 scalps.

“Yes, Ashish has told both Ravi and Virat that he does not want to continue beyond November 1 when India plays New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Obviously, there is some element of surprise. One thought that he would like to continue till the home season against Sri Lanka. But he feels, it’s the right time to move on,” the BCCI official said.

The Kotla T20 will mark his final presentation in the team. He is best appreciated and remembered for his 6 for23 against England in Durban in 2003 World cup. He is known for his never give attitude during this match, which he played despite being in bad health!

His accomplishments have brought laurels to this country, besides his own. He will always be loved and respected for his contributions towards the cricket! We will all miss you Nehra!!
