5 Best Smartphones For Photography

5 Best Smartphones for Photography: Good phones are getting cheap and cheap phones are getting good. Today, it is difficult to know as to which photo was clicked by an actual camera and which one was clicked from a smartphone. Also, since smartphones these days have multiple cameras, you can click a large variety of photos just from the smartphone.

Smartphone cameras have improved a lot in that last decade and the ability to share them instantaneously with friends and family makes smartphones for photography so likable. You must have seen Google Pixel 3 with a single camera on the back. This device inarguably captures the best images with a single camera of all mobile phones. Google doesn’t have great camera hardware; they largely rely on photo processing capabilities of the device. Using software, Google creates images that are literally untouchable.

Manufacturers like Oppo and Huawei are loading their phones with some impeccable zooming capabilities. A periscope lens in some devices allows the user to zoom in 10 times. Huawei is in a tough spot right now with the war going on with America. Nevertheless, Huawei P30 Pro is the zoom champion and you can get it at a really low price right now.

Half of the year has gone by and we still have some amazing phones to come out; iPhone 11, Samsung Note 10, and Pixel 4. However, we have already seen some great smartphones for photography in the last 12 months or so. Here is a list of the 5 best smartphones for photography. Let’s get started!

1. HUAWEI P30 PRO: Huawei is currently in a tough spot with the trade war going on with the US. The phone was released in April this and had all the high-end specs you would expect in a smartphone. However, one differentiating factor was the camera module. It has a triple camera setup on the back; 40MP (Main shooter, f/1.6, OIS), 8MP (Telephoto, f/3.4, OIS), and 20MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2). The zoom capability of this phone is just incredible. It can zoom 5 times optically and up to 50 times digitally. This basically means that you can creep up on anything which is as far as a kilometer away. The low light shots on this phone come out to be pretty amazing as well. This smartphone for photography is a direct dig at Google Pixel. Pro photographers will love the camera interface of the device as there is great manual control of individual factors affecting the photo. However, if the screen was a bit better than 1080p, the photos would have looked even better on the screen. Nevertheless, it is a good camera phone.

2. GOOGLE PIXEL 3: Design has always been a weak point of Pixel The notch implementation on this device was the ugliest and meme-worthy. However, the performance was right up there. Tech reviewers are in awe of this camera as it clicks the best photos in any device. Pixel largely depends on software for photo quality. The depth-sensing with just a single camera is amazing. Also, low-light pictures of this smartphone are at par with Huawei P30 Pro. Manual control options are plenty. Since the device makes use of only a single camera, it has limitations on the zoom front. However, if you just want a camera that is capable of taking good pictures every time you pull it out, it has got to be the Pixel 3. Also, for the first time, Google will go with a multiple camera system on the back this year. This basically means that current drawbacks will somewhat be removed.

3. ONE PLUS 7 PRO: OnePlus is known to provide value in their smartphones. They are not super expensive, neither are they cheap. OnePlus 7 Pro has all the high-end specs with a triple camera setup on the back; 48MP (f/1.6) + 8MP (f/2.4) + 16MP (f/2.2). This phone is particularly good for taking bokeh shots. Also, the screen on the device is so smooth and vibrant that every tiny detail in the picture is clearly visible on the screen. The wide and telephoto lens have OIS support and so the pictures come out to be great. However, the device struggles a bit in low light.

4. SAMSUNG GALAXY S10: Samsung has always had the best mixture of all components. It has a triple camera setup on the back; 12MP (Telephoto, f/2.4, OIS), 12MP (Wide Angle Lens, f/1.5, OIS), and 16MP (Ultra Wide Angle Lens, f/2.2). It is one of the best smartphones for photography and you can click photos on it without worrying too much about the photo quality. You can shoot video in 4K on this phone which can be later seen on a TV. All in all, this is a complete smartphone.

5. ASUS ZENFONE 6: We have seen rising cameras but this one features a rotating camera module. The phone has all the flagship specs along with two cameras on the back which rotate to become the selfie camera as well. This basically means that selfie shots are as great as rear camera shots. Also, you can use the volume rockers to adjust the angle of the rotating camera. The camera quality is good and very comparable to the iPhones. However, the screen is a bit disappointing. Overall, you can do some pretty amazing stuff with the rotating camera.

Some other smartphones for photography: iPhone X, Xiaomi Mi9, Google Pixel 3A, Sony Xperia 1, and Poco F1.
