We cannot deny the fact that cricket is treated as a religion in India. One will not find more obsessive cricket fans anywhere else in the world than India. A recent survey was conducted which has also proved how fanatical Indians are for this game. According to the survey carried out by a digital travel platform, it was claimed by 42 percent of Indian fans that they would cancel their honeymoon if it clashed with their favorite team or favorite athlete playing cricket.

According to the report, 44 percent of Indian sports fans felt they would like to see their national team or player win an international tournament the very next year, whereas the global average of 34 percent was found. The study also found out that cricket fans are the most confident, followed by football fans when asked when they felt their team or player would win a major international tournament.

The Times of India reported that 88 percent cricket fans supposed that they will see their team or player win a major international tournament in the coming next four years, while 79 percent football fans shared the same sentiments.

Looking to the sports fans Mehrotra said they are trying to make it easier for everyone to experience the world, they ensured that one would get the maximum benefit out of their trip by helping them to find their perfect accommodation, irrelevant of the occasion.

Mehrotra said that they had done a partnership with UEFA, and were excited to help bring fans the best experience with booking their ideal accommodation as well as great things to do in each host city.

The research also found that many Indian sports fans love traveling to see their team live in action.

The survey also revealed that 82 percent of Indians have completed many trips (between one to five trips) in the last year alone.

Despite affordability is important for the Indian sports fans, 37 percent of Indian sports fans happily admit that they would be willing to pay more for sports travel than their family vacation.

The research also revealed that Indian sports fans travel for Cricket estimated to 86 %, Football/Soccer – 51 %, Tennis -31 %, Hockey – 23 % and Motorsports 18 %.

The research was conducted on 22,603 sports fans aged 18years or over in 29 international markets.
